Avocado Box

Persea americana, or Avocado is a tropical fruit native to Central and South America. Interestingly, Avocados are actually a type of berry, and like many other berries, Avocados are a superfood. Avocados are loaded with healthy fats which help lower cholesterol, as well as vitamins such as B6, C, E, folate and potassium to list just a few.  Because Avocados are rich with healthy fats and dietary fiber, they are satiating and satisfy hunger for longer. Whether you are a fruitarian who depends on these essential nutrients, or you are simply passionate about natural superfoods, Avocados have a lot to offer. Avocados may help ward off diseases such as cancer, as well as conditions such as arthritis, osteoporosis and inflammation. Due to the incredible nutrient composition of Avocados, the fruit may also help maintain healthy blood pressure. This is because Avocados are rich with potassium, which is known to lower sodium levels in the bloodstream, thus improving circulatory health.

Natural folate levels in Avocado may help to reduce the buildup of homocysteine (an amino acid, which in high concentration is linked to depression and folate deficiency).  The list of potential health benefits of consuming healthy amounts of fresh Avocado are virtually endless, with observed improvements to heart, eye, brain circulatory health, and more. Conveniently, we grow and pick ripe Avocado from our own fruit trees, right here in Miami. Some of the unique varieties we offer are sourced locally from fellow growers and fruit tree enthusiasts.

Please allow us 1-2 weeks to ship your Avocado Box while our Avocados are in season to ensure that your fruits are picked at the perfect time. To ensure proper ripening of your Avocados, allow the fruit to ripen at room temperature for up to a week. Refrigerating unripe fruit may suspend the natural ripening process, and therefore is not recommended.

Your Avocados will be ripe and ready to cut once the skin has changed to a darker green, or brown color. The fruit will be soft and give to gentle pressure. Ripe fruit may be refrigerated. Squeezing lime juice on the cut Avocado will delay color changes and keep the fresh fruit green for longer.

Note: (Latex-fruit Allergies) Avocados do contain varying levels of naturally occurring proteins which may induce an allergic reaction for people who are allergic to Latex. If you have a latex allergy, consult your doctor before adding avocado to your diet. Jackfruit, among other fruits containing natural latex should also be avoided for people with latex related allergies.

Pre-Orders will ship in the order they are received, as soon as the fruit is in season and ready to be picked.

• Small Box contains approximately 3-5 pounds of fruit 
• Medium Box contains approximately 8-10 pounds of fruit 
• Large Box contains approximately 14-16 pounds of fruit 

Box weight and amounts vary depending on fruit type, volume and density.  All boxes are shipped with sustainably produced biodegradable packing material instead of Styrofoam or bubble wrap.  See our Shipping Guide for more information pertaining to our shipping schedule.

Please be mindful of estimated delivery times for orders, as prolonged package exposure to outdoor weather conditions, such as snow or extreme heat, will affect perishable produce.

All boxes are assembled and shipped starting on Monday of the week following your purchase.  Please allow 1-2 weeks for your order to be shipped for any product which is in season.  Pre-Orders will ship the following season for each respective fruit type, see details below.

Pre-Orders:

When one of our fruits is not currently in season, or has sold out, we highly recommend placing Pre-Orders. Placing a Pre-Order of our rare and premium tropical fruits reserves your Box for the following season. When supply is low and demand is high, Pre-Orders are shipped first. Pre-Orders are shipped in the order in which they are received for each type of fruit. Your Pre-Order is shipped as soon as the fruits are in season and ready to be picked.
