Key Lime Box

Citrus × aurantiifolia, the fruit commonly known as Key Lime has been cultivated throughout the world for thousands of years, namely in southeast Asia and the Indo-Malayan region. The fruit was brought to the West Indies and the Florida Keys where it obtained it’s popular name.  The fruit is now grown throughout various tropical and subtropical climates, including south Florida, Mexico and Southern California.

Key Limes are an excellent source of magnesium and potassium, which are believed to promote heart and cardiovascular health, and compounds called limonins that according to studies, are said to aid in cholesterol regulation.  Potassium can naturally lower blood pressure and improve circulation, which could reduce your risk of stroke and heart attacks.

Key Limes are compact, and pack a lot of flavor. The fruits are generally an inch or two across, with a vibrant green skin when picked.  As the fruit ripens, the peel slowly changes to a bright yellow color.  Key Limes will contain some small seeds which are not edible and should be discarded.

Key Limes stand apart from other limes because they are ultra-aromatic, and exceptionally tart. For a variety of sensational desserts, drinks, and culinary recipes, there is simply no natural substitute for fresh Key Limes.

Key Limes do not continue to ripen once picked.  Therefore, we are able to offer much higher quality Key Limes than your local store, which likely offers Key Limes that were picked weeks prematurely, and will not possess the same level of the characteristic Key Lime flavor.  This is essential, as most Key Limes are used to add flavor to drinks and various dishes.

All of our premium Key Limes are sourced right here in south Florida, and are considered the gold standard of citrus. Our Key Limes will ship ready to enjoy, and should be stored at a cool room temperature, as refrigeration may reduce their quality. For long term storage they may be sealed in an air-tight bag and frozen whole.

Pre-Orders will ship in the order they are received, as soon as the fruit is in season and ready to be picked. 

• Small Box contains approximately 3-5 pounds of fruit
• Medium Box contains approximately 8-10 pounds of fruit
• Large Box contains approximately 14-16 pounds of fruit

Box weight and amounts vary depending on fruit type, volume and density.  All boxes are shipped with sustainably produced biodegradable packing material instead of Styrofoam or bubble wrap.  See our Shipping Guide for more information pertaining to our shipping schedule.

Please be mindful of estimated delivery times for orders, as prolonged package exposure to outdoor weather conditions, such as snow or extreme heat, will affect perishable produce.

All boxes are assembled and shipped starting on Monday of the week following your purchase.  Please allow 1-2 weeks for your order to be shipped for any product which is in season.  Pre-Orders will ship the following season for each respective fruit type, see details below. 

Pre-Orders:

When one of our fruits is not currently in season, or has sold out, we highly recommend placing Pre-Orders. Placing a Pre-Order of our rare and premium tropical fruits reserves your Box for the following season. When supply is low and demand is high, Pre-Orders are shipped first. Pre-Orders are shipped in the order in which they are received for each type of fruit. Your Pre-Order is shipped as soon as the fruits are in season and ready to be picked.
